RIA Theory Group Meetings

RIA THEORY GROUP MEETING, 31 October 2004 Hyatt Regency Hotel, Chicago.
The next meeting of the RIA Theory Group will be on Sunday, 31 October 2004 following the DNP meeting in Chicago . The meeting will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago (the same hotel of the DNP meeting).
The focus of the meeting will be to begin organization of a 'blue book'. The RIA Theory Blue Book will be a short (20 page) status report on RIA theory, its progress, goals, and the community's plans to meet them. The Blue Book will be for consumption by the group, the broader RIA community, the science community, and by DOE/NSF people. ExCom would take primary responsibility for writing, with significant input from RIATG. The first Blue Book will be ready for popular consumption by 15 January 2005 .
We would like to organize this meeting as a Town Meeting. There will be a few brief overview talks along with shorter (5+5 minute) presentations that will be used as input to the Blue Book. We would therefore like to solicit your input on potential speakers and topics for the town meeting.
We will also distribute writing assignments for the Blue Book. Much ground work for this Blue Book writing will occur before the meeting, and you may shortly be contacted for input.
Overall organization of the RIATG meeting is being coordinated by Filomena Nunes (MSU, nunes@nscl.msu.edu ) and Bob Wiringa (ANL, wiringa@theory.phy.anl.gov).
There will be no registration fee for the meeting as support for the meeting is generously provided by supplied by the Nuclear Theory Group at Argonne National Laboratory.
