Education Grants

Anderson County teachers, how can we help you?

ORAU is committed to K-12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in a number of ways, including Extreme Classroom Makeover, programs from K-12 student and professional development for K-12 educators.

ORAU directly supports the schools in our own backyard by offering education grants to Anderson County educators. Since 2002, ORAU has funded more than $500,000 in grants to area schools for projects that complement ORAU’s mission of enriching STEM education programs.

Previous grant recipients have purchased iPads, laptops, Math and Movement kits, 3D printers and even fetal pigs for anatomy instruction.

In 2017, ORAU funded grants for 38 teachers from 14 East Tennessee Schools valued at $36,000. Applications are reviewed by a committee of experts who determine which projects get funded.
