ORAU and MITRE Partner to Tackle Scientific, Technical And Management Issues Around Government Priorities
We’re excited to announce a new strategic partnership between The MITRE Corporation and the Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) to advance the U.S. science, technology, and management agenda. ORAU and MITRE have complementary capabilities and expertise conducting research and creating transformational solutions in the public interest.
The not-for-profit organizations will work together with ORAU’s consortium of more than 120 universities to apply research and innovation in science, technology and public administration to address government mission challenges and management priorities.
Through this partnership, MITRE will connect with universities across the United States to apply their expertise for the benefit of MITRE’s federal sponsors. As the operator of seven federally-funded R&D centers across a diverse set of sponsors and missions, MITRE has a unique vantage point on complex, whole-of-government challenges that creates new opportunities for ORAU’s consortium to have impact. The partnership also creates recruiting opportunities for top students and faculty within ORAU’s consortium to contribute to MITRE’s mission to solve problems for a safer world.
ORAU provides innovative scientific and technical solutions for the U.S. Department of Energy and other agencies to advance science education and workforce development and protect health and the environment. They do this by integrating unique laboratory capabilities and specialized teams of experts, and by collaborating with university members. The organization connects students, recent graduates, faculty members, and professionals with meaningful mentored research experiences at national labs and other federal research facilities around the country. The breadth and depth of capability and expertise available through the ORAU consortium promises to bring new ideas and new innovation to complement and build on MITRE’s own expertise.
ORAU looks forward to the opportunity to work with MITRE on specific projects that will benefit the federal government and leverage the research programs of ORAU’s growing community of universities.
We’re working on next steps together and foresee many opportunities to support innovative and technical solutions to advance national priorities and service in the public interest.
