Lauren Bamford

EPA-RTP's Community Engagement and STEM Education Program hosted an EPA booth at The Scientific Research and Education Network (SciREN) Coast Event at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. At the event, Lauren presented two EPA lesson plans to local educators—Generate: The Energy Game, a teaching tool designed to demonstrate the challenges and tradeoffs involved in making energy choices; and Build Your Own Particulate Matter Sensor, a hands-on STEM activity that engages students in the issues surrounding air quality. The event aims to connect local STEM researchers and educators to foster the dissemination of current research and ultimately enhance the science literacy of today's youth.
