Make an impact and collaborate with EPA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) project teams! Put your passion for the environment to work and help EPA solve complex environmental challenges. ORAU also hires business, communication and administrative professionals to support EPA’s mission!

While making an impact, you will find yourself working side by side with EPA mentors and/or scientists, who will provide day-to-day direction and oversight. You will engage in specialized research/activities within your field of study/work, form contacts with fellow scientists/co-workers in various technical fields, gain professional training, and explore potential career opportunities.

What is the EPA National Student Services Contract?

The EPA National Student Services Contract (NSSC) allows ORAU to recruit and hire temporary long-term contractor assignments at EPA’s Office of Research and Development. Long-term temporary contractors collaborate in an intensive hands-on employment experience for up to five years, working side by side with EPA mentors and/or scientists, who will provide day-to-day direction and oversight. The NSSC accepts US Citizens or Legal Permanent Residents who are at least 18 years old and are currently enrolled in a degree program at a recognized educational institution, or a recent graduate (within two years of graduation).

Who is Eligible?
To be eligible for this program, you must be:
- At least 18 years of age, and
- Enrolled in good standing in a degree-seeking program at an accredited U.S. educational institution or a recent (within the last 24 months) graduate with a bachelor’s, master’s or postdoctoral degree, and
- A citizen of the United States of America or a Legal Permanent Resident
EPA ORD employees, their spouses and children are not eligible to participate in this program.
