Oak Ridge Associated Universities' (ORAU) approach to managing quality is quite simple. Our employees make it a priority to validate that project deliverables are completed in a manner than meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations.

Quality requires constant attention. At ORAU, quality is about continuous improvement (identifying best practices and ways ORAU can do even better) and conducting assessments.

Central to ORAU’s commitment to ensuring the highest level of product and service quality is the pursuit of continuous improvement of work processes, products, and services, and employee engagement in exploring and suggesting improvements.

ISO Certified 9001

ORAU's commitment to quality is supported by its quality management system (QMS) that complies with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. Maintaining ISO 9001 certification validates ORAU’s quality processes to existing customers and may help the organization bring in new business. Many ORAU competitors and partners are ISO 9001 certified, and the U.S. government generally expects their contractors to be ISO 9001 certified.

ISO 9001 helps:

  • Enhance communication throughout the organization.
  • Enable ORAU to compete in markets where most other potential suppliers are registered.
  • Enhance ORAU’s ability to perform well consistently.
  • Ensure that ORAU understands and continues to consistently meet customer requirements.

ORAU employees are the first line of offense and the last line of defense in delivering quality products and services, meeting customer expectations, and exploring continuous improvement opportunities.
