Environmental Monitoring
Laboratory-oriented training course introduces theories and methods of measuring outdoor radiation levels
Introduction
Monitoring programs for environmental radioactivity have been, or are being, established at many facilities. It is essential to ensure that the appropriate types of samples are collected, that the appropriate measurements are made, that the correct sampling and measurement techniques are employed, and that the best locations for these samples and measurements are selected. To help meet the need for trained personnel in this area, ORAU conducts a five-day training course—Environmental Monitoring. The American Academy of Health Physics grants 40 Continuing Education Credits for completion of this course. American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) Diplomates can claim Certification Maintenance credit for this event. See ABIH Maintain Certification for more information.
